Your practice stays on your device

Overview
GuitarMaxx (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a free iOS app published by Justin Bisacky. This Privacy Policy describes how the GuitarMaxx mobile app and this website handle information.
GuitarMaxx v1 is a chord diagram library and self-reported practice timer. It does not use the microphone, does not analyze audio, does not require an account, and does not include in-app purchases, widgets, or cloud sync in this release.
Information the app does not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal data from the app. Specifically, GuitarMaxx v1 does not:
- Request or access the microphone or any audio input
- Require sign-in, registration, or an account
- Upload practice history to our servers
- Use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app
- Collect precise location, contacts, photos, or health data
This matches our App Store privacy disclosure: Data Not Collected.
Information stored locally on your device
To provide streaks, session totals, and progress charts, the app stores practice data locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device storage (UserDefaults). This may include:
- Dates you logged a practice session
- Number of sessions and minutes per day
- Onboarding completion and app preferences (such as haptics)
This information stays on your device unless you choose to export or delete it.
Export, restore, and erase
From Settings in the app, you may optionally export a JSON backup file (for example, to Files or via AirDrop) or erase all local practice data. Export is initiated by you; we do not receive the backup file.
Chord library content
Chord diagrams and tips are bundled with the app. Viewing them does not send information to us.
This website
This marketing site does not use analytics cookies or advertising trackers. We do not collect personal information through the website unless you email us. If you contact justinbisacky@gmail.com, we use your message only to respond.
Children's privacy
GuitarMaxx is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal data, no child-specific data is transmitted to us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes to how data is handled will be reflected in the app and on this page before or when they take effect.
